Big Brothers Big Sisters

For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 6 through 18. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

Coping with a terminal illness in your family is one of life’s most challenging times, but you don’t have to face the challenges alone. As an area advocate for quality hospice care, Rock River Hospice & Home has been providing expert end of life care for patients in the final months of life and support for their families for over 35 years, serving Whiteside, Lee, Ogle, Carroll and Bureau counties.

Your hospice team includes your primary physician, hospice medical director, nurses, home health aides, social workers, volunteers, bereavement services and other therapies. Our team comes to you, wherever you call home. This could be your home, a nursing home, assisted living or other facility or the hospice home. The hospice home can provide care for your loved one in one of our six inpatient rooms. The rooms are built specifically for hospice patients and will be staffed with nurses and other medical staff specializing in end-of-life care. Putting the needs of our patients and their families first…that is our commitment to you.
